Episona Inc. announced on October 17, 2016, the launch of Seed, the first ever male fertility test based on the detection of epigenetic marks on the DNA carrier in sperm cells.

Dr. Brian Abraham Massachusetts Institute of Technology:

Episona recently released "Seed," a fertility test designed to predict whether sperm is capable of resulting in high-quality embryos based on its DNA methylation profile. This product grew out of research done at the University of Utah and University of Southern California studying the correlation between sperm epigenomes and their success.

The epigenetic clock and physical development during childhood and adolescence: Longitudinal analysis from a UK birth cohort
Andrew J Simpkin, et al. • International Journal of Epidemiology
Statistical models that use an individual's DNA methylation levels to estimate their age (known as epigenetic clocks) have recently been developed, with 96% correlation found between epigenetic and chronological age. We postulate that differences between estimated…
Precision cancer therapy is impacted by oncogene-dependent epigenome remodeling
Feng Liu, Paul Mischel, Webster Cavenee • Precision Oncology
The cancer genome provides the blueprint for identifying oncogenic mutations driving tumor growth and these mutant proteins and pathways are the targets for precision cancer therapies. This creates fluidity, and thereby heterogeneity, that demands consideration…
The epitranscriptome of noncoding RNAs in cancer
Manel Esteller, Pier Paolo Pandolfi • Cancer Discovery
Chemical modifications of RNA play a central role in the control of messenger and ncRNA activity and, thus, are tightly regulated in cells. In this review, we provide insight into how these marks are altered…
