Episona Inc. announced on October 17, 2016, the launch of Seed, the first ever male fertility test based on the detection of epigenetic marks on the DNA carrier in sperm cells.

Dr. Brian Abraham Massachusetts Institute of Technology:

Episona recently released "Seed," a fertility test designed to predict whether sperm is capable of resulting in high-quality embryos based on its DNA methylation profile. This product grew out of research done at the University of Utah and University of Southern California studying the correlation between sperm epigenomes and their success.

Huntington’s Disease iPSC-derived brain microvascular endothelial cells reveal WNT-mediated angiogenic and blood-brain barrier deficits
Ryan Lim, et al. • Cell Reports
We demonstrate that HD iBMECs have intrinsic abnormalities in angiogenesis and barrier properties, as well as in signaling pathways governing these processes. Thus, our findings provide an iPSC-derived BBB model for a neurodegenerative disease and…
Fecal microbiota transplantation outcomes in immunocompetent and immunocompromised patients: A single-center experience
Sally Alrabaa, et al. • Transplant Infectious Disease
Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) is a major infectious disease focus for which fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) has been used with success in various patient populations. This study highlights the safe use of FMT for recurrent CDI…
Small RNAs: Master regulators of epigenetic silencing in plants
Sarma Rajeev Kumar, et al. • RNA Technologies
From fairly simple beginnings, research on epigenetic silencing in plants has revealed a highly complex epigenetic pathway. In the last two decades, several interesting phenomena associated with epigenetic regulation in plants were dissected giving insights…
